1.       Types and Number of Leave
Leave days are possibly one of the main benefits that potential employees look out for. Taking a closer look at your overall leave days, you should also look into the types of leave that your company offers and make sure you use them. For instance, family and childcare leave are in addition to standard leave days and can be really helpful for parents.
2.       Health & Medical
Health & medical insurance can take up a large chunk of your expenses. Having comprehensive coverage will really help keep your expenses in check and provide comfort when a medical issue arises.

Most companies cover your regular GP visits (or they require a small co-payment). Beyond that, some companies offer extended hospitalization cover, and even premium health scans, which employees should definitely take advantage of!

3.       Fitness & Gym
If you are a fitness-enthusiast, you should also check out any fitness-related benefits that your company offers. A gym membership discount in your office building would help you out in your overall budget as well as added convenience. Otherwise, many companies are also increasingly offering yoga classes and/or organizing marathons/walks.

Besides the gym, many companies also offer corporate rates for restaurants, retailers and hotels. And for families, passes to popular attractions like the Zoo.

4.       Flexible Work Arrangements
Depending on your profile, you may really appreciate companies that offer flexible work arrangements. Some companies offer work-from-home schemes that will suit working parents.

Otherwise, consider alternative arrangements such as sabbaticals or secondments if you find yourself getting stuck in a rut.

5.       Study and Training Grants
If you are in a field that values continuing training or you are considering further education, it is always a good idea to look at the education/training-related benefits that your company offers. Companies are often willing to invest in their employees who want to better themselves. Take full advantage of such support! Any skills gained will be yours for life.
